Holiday 2011 Montage

Top row Mark and Mrs. Mommy Ma’am, Buffalo, July (in case you didn’t believe us last year about the grass growing and the snow melting in Buffalo); We took no pictures of W. & N. this year (oops!), so here is a picture of another W., taken on “Japanese Night” at CitiField (note the inappropriate Imperial war flag behind that W.—just one of the many mistakes the NY Mets management made this year); Mr. Daddy Sir’s college roommate S., with his beloved cat, B.K. S., the inspiration for Waldowood.com’s Dirk “Sunny” Lande, is also a past winner of back-to-back “Album of the Year” awards from Blog to Comm. (During our visit, S. wowed us with previews from his latest album.)
Second row A pirate’s life for me (on Halloween, at least); Mark and Mrs. Mommy Ma’am, 12/25/2011, after returning from our “traditional” Christmas meal at a Japanese seafood buffet restaurant (Yes, we do have some funny traditions. Yes, Mrs. Mommy Ma’am does eat in places that don’t have the name “Factory” in them. And yes, Mark does smile!); Mrs. Mommy Ma’am’s sister J. taking pictures.
Third row We finally made it to Anderson’s Frozen Custard this summer (only in Buffalo would they combine roast beef and frozen custard—match that Ted Drewes!); top: The bears and rabbits gather to introduce Mr. Daddy Sir’s new tablet and Android apps; middle: Another day, another Cheesecake Factory (new for us this year: Danbury, Cambridge, & Boston-Back Bay); bottom: Mr. Daddy Sir with his co-authors K. (new!) and D.; Our long-lasting 2010 Christmas tree watching the Super Bowl on 2/6/2011 (center inset: how that tree looked on 12/25/2010); top: Dance teacher F. posing with some Asian lady doing her best Mrs. Mommy Ma’am impression; bottom: Mark’s “adoptive” grandparents M. & T., married 63 years; cousins B. and H., waiting to play miniature golf with Mrs. Mommy Ma’am & Mr. Daddy Sir in Scottsdale.
Bottom row Three things you will not see at CitiField in 2012: a very high and a very deep left-field fence, Jose Reyes in a Mets uniform, and Mrs. Mommy Ma’am ballroom dancing By the way, Mrs. Mommy Ma’am competed on her birthday at this year’s Yankee Classic in Boston, winning the third place Pro-Am Closed Bronze International (style) Scholarship, and also competed in this fall’s 2011 Constitution State Challenge (Stamford, CT), earning a number of first places.

Lower right corner Like the owners of the NY Mets, we ended up in an expensive and deep hole this year. (For us, it was the 14 billion dollar Central Artery/Tunnel Project in Boston). After Mrs. Mommy Ma’am’s dance competition in June, we returned to Boston this November so that Mr. Daddy Sir could attend a professional conference. (Sorry, nephew Brett for missing your ice hockey game!)

Where’s Waldo? You will have to visit his website to find out where he was during 2011! Sorry about all of the Mets references, but this year was Mr. Daddy Sir’s “golden” anniversary being a Mets fan.
