Waldowood 1999

The "complex" Waldowood

The Waldowood for 1999 was the most complex two-level city ever attempted to that point. Dominated by a pair of figure-eight train tracks on two levels, this Waldowood strained for space as it tried to accommodate new additions that included a windmill in the alpine ski village.

In the foreground, a giant ferris wheel can be seen. This ferris wheel would figure prominently in the millennium Waldowood of the next year. Beyond the ferris wheel can be seen part of the LED runaway airport, which would become a fixture of Waldowood for the next 7 years.

Waldowood 1999 could run 3 trains simultaneously, the two on the figure-eight tracks and one on the loop that encircled the lower level of Waldowood.
