Ferris Center was the life style and entertainment complex meant to revitalize downtown Waldowood. The centerpiece of this complex, the Waldowood Millennium Ferris Wheel, was meant to attract residents and tourists to the downtown and Alpine Village areas and cause an increase in foot traffic that would usher in a wave of new prosperity. Unfortunately, the developers behind this complex overlooked the fact that most residents of Waldowood were afraid of heights and had no interest in riding such a scary tall ferris wheel! Worse, while developers had paid for a direct rail link to the Waldowood Airport, the height of the ferris wheel blocked landing routes for the large commercial jets that had previously bought tourists to Waldowood.
Because of these reasons, the Millennium Ferris Wheel quickly fell into bankruptcy and was demolished within the year.
