Waldowood 2012 was the largest Waldowood to date! Proving that records were meant to be broken this Waldowood featured eight closed loop lines and 2 open loop lines: the cable car line that debuted in the previous year and the Army train, making a return to Waldowood after an absence of several years.
New to Waldowood was the Durango & Silverton N-scale train and the new Mt. Waldo train tunnel that, when added to the McKinley Explorer and Acela N-scale sets helped form a new residential grouping that included the renovated alpine village train station of years past. Another innovation of Waldowood 2012 was its triple-level stack (Durango & Silverton, Chessie freight, and Hershey’s trains) that helped separate the upper level of Waldowood in commercial and residential zones.
